TANJUNG SELOR - DPR Commission VI member, Deddy Yevri Hanteru Sitorus, said several development activities on the border of North Kalimantan have not been maximized because they have not been completed.

"Like the construction of two PLBN (State Cross Border Posts), namely Long Nawang, Malinau Regency and PLBN Long Midang, Krayan, Nunukan Regency", he said, Thursday, March 9.

In addition, the construction of roads on the Indonesia-Malaysia border has not been optimal, such as the Malinau-Long Semamu road (78 Km), and Long Semamu-Long Bawan 87.56 Km.

The two roads lead to the Long Midang PLBN as well as the access road to the Labang PLBN. It needs to be accelerated, especially the Mansalong-Tao Lumbis route 151.70 Km.

Meanwhile, the government must immediately build a 16.73 km long road at the Long Nawang PLBN. The road connects Long Nawang to Tapak Mega (Malaysia).

"I have reported this condition to the President (Jokowi) during his visit to Kaltara. There will be no meaning to the magnificent PLBN that the government has built if the road has not been clear", said Deddy.

The actual condition of the border area is very concerning, especially the condition of the roads in the Apau Kayan, Lumbis and Krayan areas. As well as the progress of PLBN construction in Long Nawang - Long Midang.

"The president responded immediately. He promised that after returning from the working visit to North Kalimantan he would summon the Minister of Public Works to discuss the progress of the border road infrastructure development.

"Later I will check the information that Mr. Deddy conveyed, that was the President's answer", continued Deddy.

Residents on the border hope that before Jokowi's administration ends, the border road leading to the PLBN and the construction of the two PLBNs can be completed soon.
