JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairman (Waketum) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Viva Yoga Mauladi emphasized that the current political reality is getting ready to welcome the 2024 Election amid the discourse of postponing the election which has resurfaced some time ago.

"Political reality and all stakeholders, including the government, KPU, Bawaslu, civil society, community associations, and most political parties, are already preparing for the 2024 elections, there is no delay in the elections," Viva said as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 7.

According to him, the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday (2/3), which ordered the Indonesian KPU to postpone the holding of the 2024 elections was a miraculous decision because it stipulated a decision outside its authority.

"How can you respect the decisions of state institutions because their decisions are illegal or invalid?" he said.

He also asked the Judicial Commission (KY) to examine the judges at the Central Jakarta District Court for allegedly violating the judge's code of ethics.

"This is intended so that there is no deviant judges' behavior," he added.

Viva also said that the Central Jakarta District Court's decision in favor of the Adil Makmur People's Party (Prima) lawsuit was a fatal mistake that could potentially lead to conflict, which would heat up ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"Those outside the government will associate this issue with government intervention to delay the elections. In fact, the government has made it clear that it is holding elections on time," he said.

As a partner of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB), Viva also reminded the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Romahurmuziy who doubted that the elections would be held on time by stating that the implementation of the 2024 elections was still 50:50.

"Mr. Rommy (Romahurmuziy), come on, wake up. Don't keep dreaming," said Viva.
