PKS Declares Presidential Candidates Today, Anies Will Attend

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) will declare former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate (bacapres) for the 2024 Presidential Election today.

The plan is for this declaration to be made after the PKS Syuro Council Deliberation at the PKS DPP office, TB Simatupang Street, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, at 13.00 WIB.

This information was also confirmed by the Deputy Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW). HNW said the declaration was PKS' official form of support for Anies.

"Yes, that's true (the declaration). PKS's official support to Mr. Anies after it was decided by the PKS Syuro Council at the PKS DPP office," said HNW, Wednesday, February 22.

Meanwhile, PKS Spokesman (spokesperson) M Kholid, revealed that his party did not invite the NasDem and Democrat parties to the event.

However, he said, the declaration session would be attended directly by Anies Baswedan as the presidential candidate that his party and the Coalition for Change would carry.

"Mr. Anies, God willing, he will be invited," said Kholid.

Responding to this information, NasDem Bacapres, Anies Baswedan said he would attend the Syuro Council Deliberation at the PKS headquarters.

"God willing, tomorrow (today) I will come to the PKS DPP," said Anies in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 22.

Even so, the former Minister of Education and Culture was reluctant to confirm whether he would actually be declared a presidential candidate. This is because other information states that the PKS only announced the results of the Syuro Council deliberation which recommended Anies as the 2024 presidential candidate.

"Yes, tomorrow, it's time to announce it now," said Anies.
