Garut Regency Government Promises Work Exchanges To Be Carried Out Once Every 3 Months

GARUT - The Government of Garut Regency, West Java, promises that job exchange activities will be held every three months by working with a number of companies to make it easier for people to find work. "We hold this job fair every three months, God willing, after Lebaran which coincides with grade 12 (SMA) graduation, we will bring in more than these companies," said Head of the Garut Regency Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans) Erna Sugiarti during the Job Fair 2023 event at the Garut Hall, West Java, Antara, Sunday, February 19. He said that the Garut Regency Manpower Movement (Gentra Karya) program involves all elements of government agencies, companies, and media to hold job exchange activities that are open to the general public. "This Gentra Karya is part of the solution to reduce unemployment, so we present information on job vacancies both online and offline," he said. He said that in 2023 it coincided with the 210th Anniversary of Garut Regency holding a two-day job market which provided an opportunity for the public to determine and apply for jobs according to their choice. It was recorded that until Sunday afternoon, said Erna, there were around 4,700 residents who registered with Gentra Karya 2023 and submitted work applications to companies participating in the event. He conveyed that the activity received a positive response from the job seeker community and companies in various business sectors who claimed to be helped by the existence of a work market. Moreover, he continued, the local government allocated a budget to support the work market activities, so that the implementation was free of charge, even people waiting for the company's booth to be fed and drunk. "This facility from the APBD is free, no fees are charged, then we also give it to eat and drink for those waiting at their respective booths," he said. Erna reminded the public who are job seekers to create workforce cards or known as yellow cards for the requirements and access to take advantage of the Gentra Karya application which provides various information on job vacancies at home and abroad. "Create a workforce card, so you can access this Gentra Karya application, so if there are no offline ones, the job vacancies in the Gentra Karya application will continue throughout Indonesia," he said.
