JAKARTA The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search of two residences belonging to the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto on Tuesday, January 7. In addition to his house in Bekasi, West Java, investigators also searched Hasto's house in Kebagusan, South Jakarta until midnight.
"Last night, apart from the house in Bekasi, investigators also conducted a search of the house in Kebagusan until around 24.00 WIB," said KPK spokesman, Tessa Mahardhika, in a written statement, Wednesday, January 8.
"This confiscated evidence will be analyzed and confirmed with the witnesses to be presented," said Tessa.
Meanwhile, Hasto's attorney, Johannes Tobing, claimed that not many items were confiscated from his client's house in Bekasi, only a flashdisk and a small book. "Only got one flashdisk and a small book," Johannes told reporters.
Johannes added that the confiscated books were obtained from Hasto's personal staff, Kusnadi. He also mentioned that the evidence was allegedly related to the PAW bribery case and the obstruction of the investigation, as well as its connection with Harun Masiku.
As is known, Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah, PDIP cadres and lawyers, have been named suspects in the alleged bribery case related to PAW members of the DPR.
They are suspected of being involved in an attempt to bribe former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to arrange for Harun Masiku to become a member of the DPR.
In addition, Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation, allegedly trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
