NAGAN RAYA - The Nagan Raya Regency Government, Aceh Province, has ensured that the rules for paying tickets to enter the Irigasi Jeuram tourist area, Beutong District, to visitors amounting to Rp. 10,000 per vehicle are illegal.

"Kutipan uang sebesar Rp10 ribu oleh pihak desa termasuk perbuatan ilegal, karena tidak ada dasar hukumnya," kata Kepala Dinas Pariwisata, Pemuda dan Olahraga Kabupaten Nagan Raya, Aceh, Fariky kepada ANTARA.

According to him, every quota of levies made to the community must have a clear legal basis such as the applicable regional regulation (qanun) regarding local revenue (PAD).

Until now, said Fariky, the Nagan Raya Regency Government has not implemented qanun (Perda) regarding PAD because the regulation still does not exist.

In addition, the quote of money entering per vehicle allegedly carried out by village officials and community groups is a form of violation of the law because the action is illegal and includes illegal quotes.

"We have reminded the village not to quote the cost of access to tourist sites of the Jeuram Irrigation in Beutong Nagan Raya District, but until now this incident has still happened," said Fariky.

Fariky admitted that he had also received extortion from the perpetrators during an extortion investigation into the location of Irigasi Jeuram, Beutong District, Nagan Raya.

"The method is the same, asking for money on the grounds that the irrigation area is damaged and inflated. But when we checked, there was absolutely none," said Fariky.

Therefore, the Nagan Raya Regency Government asked the parties not to commit acts of extortion to visitors to tourist sites. The action is illegal and violates the rule of law.
