Bharada E Cries When Sentenced To 1 Year 6 Months In Prison, Lower Than The Prosecutor's Demands Of 12 Years

JAKARTA - Defendant Richard Eliezer alias Bharada E was found guilty of being involved in a series of premeditated murder cases against Yosua alias Brigadier J. Bharada E and was sentenced to one year and six months in this case.

"Declaring that the defendant in the name of Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu has been proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing the crime of participating in the premeditated murder. Sentenced the defendant Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months," Chief Judge Wahyu Iman Santoso said in a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, February 15.

Hearing this verdict, Bharada E was unable to contain his feelings. Tears fell, his head bowed with his hands pressed to his face. The judge's sentence was far lower than the prosecutor's demand of 12 years in prison.

In the verdict, Bharada E's actions or actions in the series of premeditated murder cases are believed to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.

Then, the panel of judges also considered several things behind the verdict against Bharada E. The aggravating thing was that the defendant's close relationship with the victim was not valued so in the end the victim Yosua died.

For mitigating considerations, Bharada E was considered a cooperating witness, the defendant was polite in court, had never been sentenced, the defendant is still young, and is expected to be able to improve in the future.

"The defendant regretted his actions and promised not to regret his actions again, the family of the victim Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat has forgiven the defendant's actions," said the judge.

Bharada E played the executor of the shooting that took place at the Police Complex's official residence, Duren Tiga, on 8 July. He shot Brigadier J three to four times.

Bharada E admitted that he had to do the shooting. Because at that time he was under pressure from Ferdy Sambo.

At the previous trial, the public prosecutor (JPU) stated that Bharada E was proven to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code. So, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison

For information, in this series of cases, the panel of judges has also sentenced Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawathi, Kuat Ma'ruf, and Ricky Rizal.

For Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death. Meanwhile, Putri Candrawathi was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Then, the panel of judges imposed a prison sentence of 15 years for Kuat Ma'ruf. Meanwhile, Ricky Rizal was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
