Breaking News, South Jakarta District Court Judge Sentences Richard Eliezer Alias Bharada E 1 Year 6 Months In Prison

JAKARTA - Defendant Richard Eliezer alias Bharada E was found guilty and involved in a series of premeditated murder cases against Yosua alias Brigadier J. Adjutant Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison.

"Sentenced the defendant with imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months," said Chief Judge Wahyu Iman Santoso during the trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, February 15.

In the verdict, Bharada E's actions or actions in the series of premeditated murder cases are believed to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.

Bharada E played the executor of the shooting that took place at the Police Complex's official residence, Duren Tiga, on 8 July. He shot Brigadier J three to four times.

The panel of judges was of the opinion that actually Bharada E had the opportunity to prevent Joshua or Brigadier J from being killed in a series of premeditated killings. For example, during the execution process. Bharada E was actually able to aim his shots at Brigadier J's body which was not a vital part.

"Actually the defendant had the opportunity to avoid the death of the victim Yosua by aiming (shots, ed) at other parts of the body that are not Yosua's vital areas," said Member Judge Alimin Ribut Sudjono in his consideration.

However, the accused did not do that. Bharada E actually fired his Glock-17 firearm at Brigadier J's left chest. That area is everyone's vital area because it is where the heart is.

Moreover, at that moment Bharada E was said to have shot Brigadier J more than twice.

Bharada E admitted that he had to do the shooting. Because at that time he was under pressure from Ferdy Sambo.

At the previous trial, the public prosecutor (JPU) stated that Bharada E was proven to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code. So, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

For information, in this series of cases, the panel of judges has also sentenced Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawathi, Kuat Ma'ruf, and Ricky Rizal.

Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death. Meanwhile, Putri Candrawathi was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Then, the panel of judges imposed a prison sentence of 15 years for Kuat Ma'ruf. Meanwhile, Ricky Rizal was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
