JAKARTA - DPRD DKI Jakarta is pushing for improvements in waste handling when revitalizing the Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, by Perumda Pasar Jaya, considering that the waste reaches eight tons every day.

Deputy Chairperson of Commission C DPRD DKI Jakarta Rasyidi said that effective waste management needs to be realized so that the cleanliness and comfort of visitors to residents around the market are guaranteed.

"Earlier we said that there should be no leakage of waste, it must be clean and must not get wet, and so on. So, it must be dry," said Rasyidi as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 9.

Meanwhile, Perumda Pasar Jaya Public Relations Manager Agus Lamun explained that the revitalization of the new market will begin in early 2023 in the spirit of improving the quality of transactions between traders and market visitors.

On that basis, Perumda Pasar Jaya ensures that waste management will be the focus of attention in the revitalization of all markets in Jakarta.

"So, as a result of this revitalization, our traders are getting more comfortable, their transactions are getting better, consumers who come are certainly more comfortable and feel at home shopping at the Kramat Jati Main Market," he said.
