The Existence Of Villages Can Be Maximized In Export Activities

BINTAN - The Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) said that villages have an important role in export activities.

"Villages are the basis and beginning where agriculture and MSME products are being worked on," said Director General of Economic Development and Investment of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Harlina Sulistyorini, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 2.

He added that the majority of the resources, both land, raw materials and labor, are in the village. This means that the village has a strategic position in the superior product ecosystem in Indonesia.

He conveyed that one of the BUMDesma in Malang Regency, East Java, namely BUMDesma Singosari, was preparing to conduct the first export for orchid plants to Thailand.

To export the orchid, he continued, the Ministry of Village PDTT collaborated with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) and the orchid community to support the export plan.

"So BUMDesma must have orchid letters that can indeed be exported. In Thailand, they do have orchids, but there are species that they do not exist, but we do have a lot of them," he said.

Harlina hopes that orchid exports which are planned to be carried out in March-April 2023 can motivate BUMDes and other BUMDesma to export.

In addition, he continued, he also encouraged BUMDes and other BUMDesma to have legality, such as ownership of a business identification number (NIB) from the Ministry of Investment/Coordination and Investment Agency (BKPM).

Harlina said that BUMDes' products, such as coffee, palm oil, palm oil, palm oil, and water, have great potential to be exported.

Mendes PDTT Abdul Halim Iskandar added, now the position of BUMDes and BUMDesma is getting stronger because it has been included in the Online Single Submission (OSS) system managed by the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.

"Alhamdulillah, as of February 1, 2023, it has officially entered the system. The existence of existence of BUMDes and BUMDesma is increasingly recognized constitutionally," he said.
