Just A Month After PPKM Was Revoked, Sandiaga Uno Calls Tourism In Bali Jaking 100 Percent

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno admitted that the tourism sector immediately increased after one month of revoking the policy for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) by President Jokowi. In fact, Sandiaga said the increase reached 100 percent in Bali.

"Economic activity, especially in tourism and the creative economy, has increased significantly with room occupancy rates reaching 80 to 90 percent in several destinations and for favorite destinations in Bandung, Yogyakarta and Bali reaching 100 percent," said Sandiaga Uno, Wednesday, February 1.

Sandiaga Uno explained that this year he will focus on boosting the foreign tourist sector. According to him, a number of policies will be supported, especially regarding flights in Creative Economy Zones and Special Economic Zones for Tourism.

"The foreign tourism market target has been significantly increased this year with several policies such as increasing the number of flights, the president has given directions for accelerated development so as to create business opportunities as well as employment opportunities," explained Sandiaga Uno.

In addition to the policy on flights, continued Sandiaga Uno, there is also a matter of convenience in terms of organizing events which are expected to trigger creative activities, such as music and sports which are expected to encourage the creation of foreign tourists.

"Finally (the president's order) is about the target of job creation and several flagship programs such as empowerment of MSMEs, tourist villages and creative villages which are expected to achieve the 2024 target of creating 4.4 million new and quality jobs," said Sandiaga Uno.
