PPP Said, Information On Cabinet Reshuffles Is Usually Notified By Jokowi In Injury Time

JAKARTA - The issue of reshuffling the Indonesia Onward Cabinet by President Joko Widodo has become even louder after Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung gave a signal. However, the coalition parties themselves admit that they have not received any information.

Deputy Chairperson of the United Development Party, Arsul Sani, admitted that he has not received any news regarding the reshuffle of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet that will be carried out by Jokowi. At least until Monday 30 January, PPP had not yet been consulted.

"I want to convey, that (the news regarding the reshuffle of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet) is not yet," said Arsul at the Senayan Parliament Complex, quoted from Antara.

For PPP, only President Jokowi and God know when a reshuffle will take place. Including targeting any minister.

"I think those who know, the President and Allah SWT, including when and who," he said.

The deputy chairman of the RI MPR said that news about cabinet reshuffles would usually be conveyed to the relevant political parties at the end of the announcement, as President Jokowi has often done since his first term in office.

"Regarding ministers from parties, it is usually conveyed to the political party concerned before the close with the announcement being made," he said.

Arsul believes President Jokowi will consider the balance of political parties supporting the government in his cabinet.

"All of these parties believe that President Jokowi will of course keep everything in balance," said the member of Commission III of the DPR.

He also believes that the ministerial or deputy ministerial seats held by PPP in the Indonesia Onward Cabinet will not decrease, but will instead increase.

"So, if PPP has one minister, one deputy minister, God willing, it won't decrease. If you expect it to increase, yes," he said.

However, he said that PPP would wait and fully submit the decision on the reshuffle to President Jokowi, who has the prerogative.

"We have never hoped for a particular position, just hoping for an additional position. Regarding what position, we must respect the president's prerogative authority," said Arsul.

Currently, PPP fills two seats in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, namely Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa and Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid.

The news of a cabinet reshuffle was blowing because there was pressure from PDI Perjuangan politicians on ministers from the NasDem Party, especially because the NasDem Party had declared it would carry Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 elections.
