West Sulawesi Governor Asks The Public Not To Be Provoked By Banners Rejecting Presidential Candidates

MAMUJU- The Governor of West Sulawesi (Sulbar) Akmak Malik appealed to the public not to be provoked by the issue of the rejection of the presidential candidate (Capres) in West Sulawesi.

"There are already billboards and banners scattered in West Sulawesi that reject one of the presidential candidates, this is the act of an irresponsible person," said the acting governor, Akmal Malik, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, January 29.

He said the act of provocation only wanted to make noise in the community and the region as well as a form of black campaign political activity.

"Don't believe the banners, because it wasn't purely done by the people, but the work of irresponsible individuals who tried to make the area rowdy," he said.

He asked that the community not be easily divided and maintain unity and unity because there have been activities that try to disrupt political stability in the region.

"There are parties who are trying to undermine regional stability ahead of the 2024 General Election and Presidential Election, so that people are not easily provoked by various kinds of issues that have the potential to divide unity," he said.

He said, in the corridors of democracy, freedom of expression is guaranteed, but all parties are asked to respect the rule of law in force and not disturb public order.

"Let's respond wisely to all potentials that want to undermine the situation of political stability in the regions because Indonesia is a democratic country, but the law must also be respected and valued and not violated in conveying every problem," he said.
