Fire At Kemis Market Tangerang, Officers Constrained By Water Supply

TANGERANG - A total of six rented houses in the Kuta Jaya Village, Pasar Kemis, Tangerang Regency caught fire. There were dozens of firefighters deployed in the fire.

The Head of BPBD Tangerang Regency, Ujat Sudrajat, confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Thursday, January 19, in the early morning.

"Yes, it's true that there was a fire, six rented houses (owned by) Husnia. There are 17 personnel and 4 firefighters deployed," Ujat said in his statement, Thursday, January 19.

Ujat said that the length of time to put out the fire was due to water constraints, that's why the personnel were still waiting for the help of other firefighters who were extinguishing it elsewhere.

It is known, the new fire can be extinguished at 01.15 WIT. Meanwhile, officers only started extinguishing the fire at 00.30 WIB.

"Water problems, another firefighting unit is currently dealing with it in Kosambi. So at the same time, when he knew something was on fire, Mako from Pasar Kemis turned right around to put out the fire in the rented house," he said.

So far, the cause of the fire is unknown. However, he confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

"The cause and loss are unknown. There were no fatalities," he concluded.
