202 Company Workers In Nunukan Kaltara Positive For COVID-19

TARAKAN - As many as 202 workers of PT. MIP in Nunukan, North Kalimantan was confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"On behalf of the Kaltara Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force, we convey our concern over the discovery of 202 confirmed cases at PT. MIP," said the spokesman for the Kaltara COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Agust Suwandy in Tanjung Selor, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 28.

He suggested that contact tracing should be carried out immediately so that the case does not spread. In addition, it requires close monitoring of confirmatory cases that are being isolated independently by the company.

"If there are cases with more severe symptoms, they should immediately be referred to a referral hospital for further treatment," said Agust.

Positive cases of COVID-19 in Kaltara increased by 327 people, of which the cumulative total of positive cases was 3,664 people.

There were four positive COVID-19 patients who died, namely two people in Tarakan, one person in Nunukan and Bulungan, one person.

The number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 increased by 137 people with a cumulative total recovery of 2,225 people. Then there were 186 positive patients who were still being treated, so the total number of patients who were still being treated was 1,364 people.

There were 5,854 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 34,796 specimens were examined with the results of 5,854 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 719,219 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, December 28.

Cases recovered today increased by 6,302 so that a total of 589,978 people recovered. Then, 215 confirmed positive cases died and a total of 21,452 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,678 new cases and a total of 177,604 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by Central Java which has 977 new cases with a total of 78,770 cases. East Java has 784 new cases and a total of 81,532 cases. Then, West Java has 403 new cases and a total of 79,993 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,700 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 832 recovered cases, South Sulawesi with an increase of 695 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 693 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is West Kalimantan.
