TANGERANG - Officers from the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang Regency, Banten managed to evacuate a 5-meter-long python that was found by residents from the roof of the mess in one of the factories in the area.

"Initial information on the incident we received from residents who reported finding snakes in the factory mess owned by PT. Indonesia Harapan Harmonis, at Pasar Kemis", said the Head of BPBD Tangerang Regency, Ujat Sudrajat, quoted from Antara, Friday, January 13.

He explained, after receiving the report the Fire Rescue Team from the Tangerang Regency BPBD immediately went to the scene of the incident to carry out the evacuation process.

According to him, when the python was evacuated it was found to be on the roof of the factory mess.

"The large python is known to be on the roof of the factory mess which has been damaged, then we immediately carry out evacuation efforts", he said.

He said that with the condition of the snake being on the roof, the rescue team with as many as six people tried to catch it using existing equipment.

Finally, the reptile was caught in about an hour in a living condition.

"This snake had rebelled when it was about to be caught, especially in a circular position", he said.

After being caught, the python will then be handed over to the local Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) for further handling, said Ujat.
