Roads In South Central Timor Patah Imbas Earthquake M 7.5 Maluku, BPBD NTT Asks Local Governments To Send Heavy Equipment

A number of heavy equipment will be deployed to road points experiencing faults in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) due to an earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 7.5 in Maluku on Tuesday, January 10 in the morning.

"We hope that the recovery process can be carried out as soon as possible so that the damage to a number of roads in the South Central Timor region does not interfere with the flow of transportation from and to the area," said Head of the NTT Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Ambrosius Kodo in Kupang, NTT, Tuesday, January 10, confiscated by Antara.

Ambrosius said the heavy equipment was deployed by the North Central Timor and South Central Timor Regency Governments for the process of handling road points that suffered faults.

Although it is admitted that the shipment is being processed, Ambrosius does not know when the heavy equipment will arrive in the NTT area affected by the disaster.

Ambrosius said that in handling the impact of the M 7.5 Maluku earthquake in NTT, his party continues to coordinate with the governments of North Central Timor and South Central Timor.

Until now, BPBD NTT is still collecting data related to the impact of damage caused by the Maluku earthquake in NTT. He also said he did not know whether there were any casualties.

"We cannot confirm whether the damage occurred due to the Maluku earthquake or because there was a shift in land that caused a number of roads to be damaged," he said.
