RIAU - The Dumai City joint SAR team evacuated the body of an angler who was attacked by a crocodile in the Mosque River, Bagan Keladi Village, West Dumai District, Dumai City, Riau Province, Sunday, December 11.

"Rudi (16) was found dead approximately 2.5 km from the location when the victim was attacked by a crocodile, Rudi's body was found with bite marks on the victim's body and legs," said Guswandi Ali Dantim Crew RB 218 Dumai in his statement, Monday 12 December, confiscated by Antara.

He said the body of the angler named Rudi was then handed over to his family for the bath and funeral process.

Guswandi explained that the chronology of the victim being attacked by a crocodile when the young man came to the fishing location on Saturday, December 10 night. Then the witnesses at the location saw the victim being attacked by a crocodile and immediately reported it to Bhabinkamtibmas.

"A number of residents together with Bhabinkammas had time to search but the victim had not been found," said Guswandi.

Furthermore, to optimize search, rescue and rescue efforts, Bhabinkamtibmas immediately reported to Dumai SAR.

Guswandi appealed to residents around the riverbanks to be more careful to lure them to avoid casualties being eaten by the jasmine animal.

The West Dumai District area is crossed by two large rivers in Dumai City, namely the Mosque River and Dumai River.

The length of the Mosque River is 12 km which crosses the Bagan Keladi and Purnama sub-districts, Dumai City. Meanwhile, the Dumai River stretches in Simpang Tiga Village along 1.7 km and the Sesai Base along 1.3 km.
