Gempa M 4,6 Goyang Sukabumi Hari Ini, BPBD Pastikan Tak Imbulkan Korban Jiwa

JABAR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has collected data on casualties and damage from the 4.6 magnitude earthquake (M) rocked Sukabumi City today, Sunday 6 November.

Sukabumi City BPBD Chief Executive Imran Wardhani said the earthquake that occurred at around 04.51 WIB did not cause any casualties or damage to residents' houses or public facilities. "We have deployed personnel to various locations to collect data related to the impact of the earthquake, but until 19.00 WIB the damage report still wants and it is certain that this earthquake will not cause any impact," said Imran in Sukabumi, West Java (West Java), quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 6. Imran said that until now his party had not received reports from residents regarding the impact of the earthquake and casualties.

Even so, Imran still appealed to residents to always be aware of aftershocks that could occur at any time. Not only that, he also appealed to residents not to panic in the event of an earthquake, first they must calm down and quickly get out of their homes and stay away from buildings and trees because they are worried about collapsing or falling.

Then, he said, residents were asked not to trust information or news with unclear sources or hoaxes related to earthquakes so that they could cause panic. "Residents don't need to panic, but remain vigilant, because the disaster that comes cannot be predicted. And if there is damage in the area, they should immediately report to us so they can be quickly handled," he added.

The earthquake was located in the sea at a distance of 93 km southwest of Sukabumi City with an epicenter depth of 37 km. This earthquake did not have the potential for a tsunami.
