JPPR's Temporary Monitoring, There Are Ballots Punctured In East Java

JAKARTA - The People's Voter Education Network (JPPR) found 826 polling stations (TPS) that were not on time in 270 regions to carry out the 2020 Pilkada. This was discovered when it conducted monitoring in a number of areas.

In addition, JPPR National Coordinator Alwan Ola Riantoby also said that his party found that there were ballots that had been punched.

"In the JPPR monitoring process from 07.00 WIB to 09.30 WIB, several findings from the monitoring were found," Alwan said in a written statement to journalists, Wednesday, December 9.

The first finding is that there are polling stations that are not open on time. According to him, although based on Article 3PKPU Number 8 of the Year Regarding Voting and Counting Votes it was stated that voting was held from 07.00 to 13.00 local time but there were still a number of polling stations that opened late.

He explained that the untimely TPS were scattered in a number of areas such as 36 TPS in Cianjur, 65 TPS in Sukabumi Regency, 45 TPS in South Tangerang, 110 TPS in North Buton, 43 TPS in West Manggarai, 5 TPS in Depok City, 16 TPS in Kawarawang, 73 TPS in Medan City, 82 TPS in Madina, 98 TPS in South Buru, 112 TPS in Kaimana Regency, 54 TPS in Majene Regency, 12 TPS in Gowa Regency, 32 TPS in North Sulawesi Province, 16 TPS in Jambi Province , and 27 polling stations in the Riau Islands Province.

"One of the reasons for the delay in opening the TPS was the slow logistics and PPE arriving at the TPS. In addition, in Pandeglang Regency there were two sub-districts that were moved, namely Panimbang and Kesik Districts due to flooding," he said.

Alwan said this kind of delay should not have occurred because from the start the election organizers should have carried out mitigation and had no impact on delays in opening the TPS.

Meanwhile, the second finding, JPPR said that there were ballots that had been punctured. This finding occurred at TPS 4 in Karanganyar Village, Tamansari Village, Situbondo Regency, East Java.

"The practice of cheating by punching ballots can occur in many areas. So we encourage Bawaslu to pay more attention to these allegations and dare to take action," he concluded.
