COVID-19 Update as of October 28: New Cases 3,015, Active Cases Increase to 22,743

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 59,933 specimens were examined with the result that there were 3,015 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,484,764 people and active cases rose by 1,210 to 22,743 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Friday, October 28.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,783 people, bringing the total to 6,303,477 recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 22 cases and the total was 158,544 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,007 cases and a total of 1,444,841 cases. Followed by West Java with 448 new cases with a total of 1,188,135 cases. East Java with 391 new cases and a total of 611,972 cases. Central Java with 257 new cases and a total of 341,791 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 714 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 367 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 220 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 145 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 110,316,326.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 7.41 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,816 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 205,125,007 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,852,490 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 64,942,521 people and the fourth dose was 664,533 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
