Reactive To COVID-19, KPK Entrusted The Regent Of Banggai Laut To The Luwuk Police Station Detention Center

JAKARTA - The Regent of Banggai Laut, Wenny Bukamo is officially named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He is suspected of accepting bribes related to goods and service procurement projects within the Banggai Laut Regency Government for the 2020 budget year.

Apart from Wenny, his confidant, Recky Suhartono Godiman; Director of PT Raja Muda Indonesia, Hengky Thiono; Commissioner of PT Bangun Bangkep Persada Hedy Thiono; Director of PT Antarnusa Karyatama Mandiri, Djufri Katili; and the Director of PT Putra Delta, Andreas Hongkiriwang were also named suspects.

However, Wenny and two other suspects, namely Recky Suhartono and Hengky Thiono were not detained at the detention center (Rutan) in Jakarta. In fact, the three suspects had not yet been brought to the KPK building in Jakarta.

The anti-corruption agency decided to leave the detention of Wenny, Recky and Hengky at the Luwuk Police Detention Center, Central Sulawesi. This decision was taken by the KPK because based on a rapid test, the three suspects were declared reactive to the corona virus or COVID-19.

Apart from being detained because of the reactive COVID-19, at the Luwuk police station, the three suspects will undergo independent isolation as part of a health protocol to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

"WB (Wenny Bukamo), RSG (Recky Suhartono Godiman) and HTO (Hengky Thiono) were each entrusted with temporary detention at the Luwuk Rutan (police station) and then left for self-isolation because of indications of reactive COVID-19," said the Deputy Chairman of the KPK. , Nawawi Pomolango in a press conference at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Friday, December 4.

Meanwhile, the three other suspects were detained by the KPK in three different detention centers in Jakarta. Hedy Thiono was detained at the KPK Rutan Merah Putih KPK, Djufri Katili was detained at the Pomdam Jaya Guntur Detention Center and Andreas Hongkiriwang was detained at the KPK Rutan Kavling C1 or the old KPK building. The six suspects, including Wenny, will be detained for the first 20 days.

"The suspects are currently being held detention detention for the first 20 days from December 2020 to December 23, 2020," said Nawawi.

As for Wenny, Recky and Hengky who were named as suspects who received bribes, they were charged with violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 Year 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 Year 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st KUHP.

Meanwhile, those who gave bribes, namely Hedy Thiono, Djufri Katili, and Andreas Hongkiriwang were suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 Year 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 Year 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
