JAKARTA - The Chief Expert of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin admitted that he was part of the group of Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo shopping in Hawaii who allegedly used bribes related to the export of lobster seeds.

When the KKP group has free time in Hawaii, Ngabalin, who also serves as the Trustee of the KKP Stakeholders and Public Policy Committee (KPK2P) saw Edhy and his wife enter a Rolex watch shop.

It is known that the Rolex watch became one of the pieces of evidence secured by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) because it was suspected that the purchase of luxury goods was the result of corruption in the case investigated by the anti-graft agency.

"In front of the hotel where we are staying, there are shops selling goods. I did come to the watch shop once," said Ngabalin at the Indonesia Lawyers Club event, Tuesday, December 1 evening.

However, Ngabalin was not interested in following the steps of Edhy and his wife who wanted to buy the watch. "Because it is a luxury watch, I want to ask (the price) is also not possible. I know it's a Rolex watch, expensive," he said.

Ngabalin admitted that at that time Edhy also did not buy when he was on vacation because he didn't have enough money. So, at that time, Ngabalin saw that Edhy had no transactions.

Ngabalin suspected that Edhy had returned to the shop to buy a Rolex. However, Ngabalin no longer participated and saw the transaction.

"I don't know if I'll buy the next one. Because, next time I won't go shopping," he said.

Ngabalin also explained why he also went to the United States with Edhy's entourage. Since Edhy became a minister, he has often invited KKP supervisors and advisors like Ngabalin to see KKP's activities firsthand.

The reason is said Ngabalin, he can continue the results of cooperation in fisheries management or other similar waters to be disseminated to fishermen in Indonesia.

"There are several collaborations carried out by the KKP by Pak Edi. Thus, as the supervisor of the KPK2), we can also convey to the fishermen that there is great hope from the Ministry which has opened the development of studies on lobsters, shrimp and the like," he explained.

In this case, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).
