COVID-19 Update as of October 6th: New Cases 1,831, Accumulated 6,441,123 Cases

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 60,485 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1,831 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,441,123 people and active cases have increased by 104 to 17,047 cases", said data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Thursday, October 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,715 people, bringing the total to 6,265,899 recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 12 cases and the total was 158,177 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 680 cases and a total of 1,429,401 cases. Followed by West Java with 302 new cases with a total of 1,181,646 cases. East Java with 222 new cases and a total of 606,411 cases. Banten with 138 new cases and a total of 338,112 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 843 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 234 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 226 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 118 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,071,951.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 5.93 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,309 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,667,222 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,286,846 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was followed by 63,920,103 people and the fourth dose by 632,925 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
