COVID-19 Vaccine Stock In Bandung Is Out, Task Force: We Go To Provinces And Centers Not Are Also Available

BANDUNG - The Bandung City COVID-19 Handling Task Force revealed that the stock of COVID-19 vaccines in the area had run out since the end of September 2022.

The Daily Chair of the Bandung City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Asep Saeful Gufron, said his party had coordinated with the provincial and central governments regarding availability.

"We have asked the province three times, we have coordinated with the center, so it is not yet available", said Asep in Bandung, West Java, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 3.

He explained that the COVID-19 vaccination activities at every (public health center) Puskesmas in Bandung City currently only deplete the existing vaccine stock. Asep also admitted that the Puskesmas could not provide optimal vaccination services.

Although it is not yet available, according to him, the target for booster vaccination in Bandung has been achieved. The reason, he said, the enthusiasm of the citizens of Bandung to participate in vaccination is still great.

"Obviously enthusiastic, because it is regulated in the Minister's Instruction and Mayor's Regulation, it is required for those 18 years and over to be vaccinated, moreover children also need to be vaccinated", he said.

In early October 2022, according to him, the rate of COVID-19 cases in the city of Bandung was under control. At the end of October 2022, the positivity rate was around 4 percent, while now it is at 3.65 percent.

He also believes that herd immunity in the city of Bandung has been established. However, he said, socialization on vaccination will continue to be carried out by his party.

"In the future, we will not talk about targets, but talk about how we educate the community so that the community itself is called to be vaccinated", he concluded.
