JAKARTA - The North Jakarta (Jakut) City Government (Pemkot) has stepped up surveillance of unlicensed entertainment places by conducting mobile patrols in two suspected locations of nighttime prostitution in Cilincing, North Jakarta. One of them is in the area of Kampung Rawa Malang, Semper Timur, Monday, September 26. However, in carrying out this activity, a number of night entertainment places closed their entertainment venues. It is suspected that this operation is leaking.
The head of the North Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit, Yusuf Madjid (Yuma) in Jakarta, carried out the patrol order by deploying 100 personnel to monitor the activities of the unlicensed entertainment business.
"This place is known as Kampung Rawa Malang, this area is indeed close to residential areas, but many of its activities are unlicensed and are used as places for alleged immoral acts and so on," Yuma said quoting Antara, Monday, September 26.
Yuma added that the patrol effort was carried out in response to an incident that violated the law some time ago, namely the alleged sexual abuse by four children against a 13-year-old girl in the Rawa Malang City Forest.

Prior to holding this activity, his party had held a meeting at the North Jakarta Mayor's Office on Monday afternoon. The Assistant for the North Jakarta City Administration is compiling a more comprehensive effort in handling the unlicensed entertainment business.
This includes deploying the local Satpol PP to enforce local regulations related to business place licensing.
However, when the night patrol operation began, the unlicensed entertainment business in Kampung Rawa Malang already knew about the operation plan, so the place seemed empty.
"The Cilincing Police this afternoon carried out an operation to create conditions in the form of notification to residents beforehand that there would be an order to be carried out in this place. That's part of the socialization," said Yuma.
Judging from the place, Yuma estimates that there are about three blocks with a total of 36 business buildings located there.
"We saw that it was three blocks away. The rest were settlements. But the settlements were piled up, on top of which was a residence, below was a place of business but the condition was closed. That's what we found in this place," said Yuma.
For now, Yuma said he would continue to patrol two to three times a week to prevent unlicensed entertainment establishments in the area from reopening.
"After this, we will continue to the side of the bridge. It's not just this one place. In front of it there is still a Cakung Kali Inspection road, people here call it Sajem or Koljem, basically inspection. After here we will continue there," said Yuma.
