Unraveling Congestion, Bandung City Government Needs 2 New Flyovers In Buah Batu And Kiaracondong

BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) said the City of Bandung needed two new flyovers to break down the congestion that occurred. The flyover was originally built at the Buah Batu Intersection and the Kiaracondong Intersection (Samsat).

Bandung City Secretary Ema Sumarna said the two flyovers would be built on Soekarno-Hatta Street. According to him, the flyover program is a central government project.

"I think that according to the existing schedule, much is still needed, for example Kiaracondong-Soekarno Hatta and Buahbatu-Soekarno Hatta," said Ema in Bandung, West Java, as quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 23.

He also encouraged the central government to hasten the infrastructure development after one flyover was only 100 percent completed in Bandung, namely the Kopo Flyover.

"I believe it will have a significant effect on breaking the long queues of vehicles in the area," he said.

Even so, according to Ema, currently one of the efforts to break down congestion in the city of Bandung is to maximize traffic engineering.

Because according to him, the condition of public transportation in the city of Bandung is still not able to reduce congestion significantly.

In the last five years, there have been four flyovers built in the city of Bandung, namely the Antapani Flyover, the Jakarta-Supratman Flyover, the Laswi Flyover and the Kopo Flyover.

The Kopo Flyover is the most recently completed infrastructure in September 2022 in the city of Bandung.

The construction of the 1.3 kilometer flyover took less than two years since November 2020.
