JAKARTA - The government has distributed the first phase of wage subsidy assistance (BSU) to 4,112,052 workers with salaries below Rp. 3.5 million per month. The data was as of Wednesday, September 14, yesterday.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah in a press statement with President Joko Widodo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday, September 16.

"From this first stage, of the 4.3 million who passed, 4,112,052 workers and we finished disbursing them on Wednesday (September 14) ago," said Ida.

The Minister of Manpower explained that the remaining 249,740 workers who were included in the first phase of BSU beneficiaries had not yet received their rights because the person concerned did not pass the verification and validation in the banking phase.

Nevertheless, Ida ensured that the government would continue to distribute BSU to these workers through the two options prepared.

"Those who did not pass 249,740 workers, meaning they do not have an account at the bank. Later we will distribute the two options, open an account at the Himbara Bank or through PT Pos," he said.

The Minister of Manpower reiterated that BSU is a policy based on President Jokowi's direction to maintain the purchasing power of workers or laborers in meeting their needs due to price increases.

BSU recipient workers are required by Indonesian citizens (WNI) not civil servants (PNS) or members of the TNI-Polri as evidenced through ownership of the Population Identification Number (NIK) and are active participants of the employment social security program from the Employment Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) until at least July 2022.

BSU recipients are workers who earn a maximum salary or salary of IDR 3.5 million per month, or equivalent to the provincial or district/city drinking wage (UMP/K) rounded up to a full hundreds of thousands.

"For example, for example, working friends in DKI, the minimum wage is Rp. 4.7 million per month, so they still receive wage subsidy assistance. Then this applies nationally, so it is different from the wage subsidy in 2021 which is based on the area imposed by PPKM Level 1," said Ida.

To ensure that BSU is right on target, the Minister of Manpower stated that the Ministry of Manpower communicates intensely with the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure that beneficiaries do not overlap with other social assistance such as pre-employment card programs, family hope programs, and presidential assistance (Banpres) products. micro-enterprises.

Ida explained that in the early phase, the Ministry of Manpower had received data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as many as 5,099,915 workers who were included in the criteria for BSU beneficiaries.

Ida said that BSU beneficiary workers would receive assistance of Rp600,000 which was paid at once.

"After screening in accordance with the regulations, finally those who passed were 4,361,792 workers," he said.
