BMKG Expects Rain On Java Island

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of the potential for heavy rain in most provinces in Indonesia on Thursday, September 8.

According to the BMKG, heavy rains have the opportunity to flush parts of the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

Parts of the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua also face the potential for heavy rain.

Meanwhile, parts of the provinces of DKI Jakarta, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi are predicted to experience lighter rains.

The BMKG also issued a warning regarding the potential for rain that could be accompanied by lightning in Palembang City, South Sumatra Province, in the morning and in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan Province, during the day, as well as the potential for heavy rain in Mamuju City, West Sulawesi Province, at night.

In the DKI Jakarta area, light rain is likely to fall in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta during the day; South Jakarta and East Jakarta at night; and the Thousand Islands in the early hours of the morning.

The BMKG said that West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and Central Sulawesi were included in the alert category to face the effects of heavy rains, such as floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, South Sumatra, the Bangka Belitung Islands, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Banten, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua, according to the BMKG, are on alert for the impact of heavy rains. .
