Jimly Asshiddiqie Value Of Director General Of Police Of The Ministry Of Home Affairs Bahtiar Proper Jabat Acting Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - Member of the DPD RI Jimly Asshiddiqie assessed that the Director General of Politics and General Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Polpum Kemendagri) Bahtiar was the ideal figure to be the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"Not many high-ranking middlemen officials have such capacity and qualifications, one of which is a high-ranking middle official within the Ministry of Home Affairs, there is Bahtiar who currently serves as Director General of Politics and General Administration," Jimly said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 4. However, he continued, this of course goes back to President Joko Widodo's decision, which previously went through the "profileing" process or analyzed behavior by the Ministry of Home Affairs' final assessment team according to the regulations for acting governors.

It is known that Bahtiar is one of the figures whose name sticks out in the middle of the Pj candidate exchange to replace DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan whose term of office ends in October.

Then, Jimly, who is also the Chair of the DKPP for the 2012-2017 period, explained that one of the capabilities that the Acting Governor of DKI needs to have is good political communication.

Moreover, DKI Jakarta has a multicultural society so its peace needs to be maintained.

Bahtiar has this ability because he has held strategic positions related to the community.

The position is like the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Ormas, Director of Domestic Politics and Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This is an important capital to build humane communication with all stakeholders in DKI Jakarta.

The chairman of the ICMI Advisory Council hopes that Bahtiar can build communication, both with the DKI Jakarta DPRD, the internal ranks of the DKI Jakarta Government, as well as the extension of the central government.

On the other hand, the expert on constitutional law and the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court for the 2003-2008 period said DKI Jakarta is a national political barometer, so political stability needs to be maintained.

The multicultural condition of the people makes the social life of DKI residents full of dynamics.

Therefore, the figure of the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta is someone who is able to maintain political and social stability, so that the wheels of government and public services run well.

He believes that Bahtiar has this ability. Moreover, Bahtiar has experience as a Temporary Acting Governor (Pjs) of the Riau Islands.

In addition, as an ASN, Bahtiar is considered to uphold a neutral attitude and has no political interest.

Bahtiar is also considered successful in initiating national programs so that his figure is expected to carry out the mandate as Acting Governor of DKI and can be accepted by all parties.

Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian in a Working Meeting with Commission II of the DPR RI on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, stated that he had not received input on the names of the candidates for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. The Minister of Home Affairs ensured that the Acting Governor of Jakarta had neutral, professional, and experienced criteria.
