KSAL: KRI Investigators Don't Be Afraid Of Intervention Of Markus

JAKARTA - Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral TNI Yudo Margono asked base investigators and KRI investigators not to be afraid to be intervened or be misled by case brokers or "markus".

"I reiterate, especially base investigators, especially KRI investigators, don't be afraid to be intervened or be fooled by the presence of 'markus'," Yudo said after witnessing the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 29.

He emphasized that in accordance with its authority, the Navy served as law enforcement and investigators for cases of criminal acts at sea.

In the current era of social media, Yudo said it was easy for people to cheat on behalf of the Navy in order to be able to solve certain cases.

Therefore, he ordered his soldiers to be more careful.

"Don't let people feel close to me or have a photo with me, this is the command of the KSAL. Well, don't do it. That's why I say, if there is such an intervention, call me immediately. They have all my phone numbers. Navy soldiers don't need to be afraid of the KSAL so that they know that this is really not from the KSAL or other officials. This is an anticipation," said Yudo.

In the future, the Navy must anticipate things like this more because events like this have happened.

"There used to be. It shouldn't be like it used to be," said Yudo.

During a briefing to all participants of the Navy Unit Commander (AKS) at the Naval Academy (AAL), Surabaya, on Saturday (27/8), Yudo asked the Navy soldiers to be wary of "markus", both from within and from outside the Navy. who claimed to be close friends of officials and could solve problems for a certain fee.

He said many Navy personnel who were experiencing problems/cases were offered by certain parties with the promise of solving the problem, of course by asking for some money so that the problem could be resolved immediately.

"This will be very dangerous because everyone involved in it will be subject to sanctions. Whether the investigator or the person in the case, both of them will be punished," said Yudo.

Likewise, if at the Kotama level or at the Naval Base (Lanal) who are handling a case, then irresponsible people are used by asking the unit commanders to stop the legal process of the case being handled by claiming to be from the Naval Headquarters (Mabesal) or by order of Kasal.

Therefore, Yudo requested that unit commanders not immediately believe without a "cross-check" to Headquarters or KSAL directly regarding the veracity of the request.

If the incident occurred, Kasal ordered Pomal to carry out an examination of all personnel involved in it.

"All violations of criminal law and discipline must be processed by the Inspection Report (BAP) by Pomal," said KSAL.
