Detection Of 14 Hotspots In East Kalimantan Today, BMKG Asks BPBD To Follow Up To Prevent Forest And Land Fires

BALIKPAPAN - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) through a station in Balikpapan detected 14 hot spots spread across East Kalimantan Province.

Forecaster for Class I Station Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan City, Idham Chalid, asked the authorities to follow up on the BMKG findings by taking action.

"A total of 14 hot spots were monitored throughout last Saturday from 01.00 WITA to 24.00 WITA", he said in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 26.

The distribution of the 14 hotspots has been reported by the BMKG to related parties, especially the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) both in the East Kalimantan Province and local districts.

The day before, the BMKG also detected 21 hot spots spread across five districts. The information was also reported to the relevant parties until the hot spot finally disappeared.

Meanwhile, the 14 hotspots observed today and spread over two districts are hotspots located in different locations, although there are still some in the same district.

The two districts that detected 14 hotspots were East Kutai Regency there were 10 hotspots, then Kutai Kartanegara Regency detected 4 hotspots.

The details are, for the 10 hot spots in East Kutai spread over four sub-districts, namely Bengalon District, there are two points, Kaubun District has one point, Muara Ancalong District has five points, and North Sangatta District has two hotspots.

"Then the four hotspots detected in Kutai Kartanegara Regency were spread over two sub-districts, namely one point in Loa Janan District and three hotspots detected in Loa Kulu District", said Idham.
