Refusing To Be Discharged, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo On Appeal, Final Verdict Cannot Be Reviewed Despite Perpol Regulation

JAKARTA - The National Police confirms that the appeal decision regarding Inspector General Ferdy Sambo is final. There are no other legal remedies for the special appeal decision related to Ferdy Sambo.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, explained that the National Police will not enforce the Indonesian National Police Regulation (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission in the case of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

In Perpol Number 7 of 2022, it is regulated that members of the National Police who are found to be proven to have violated the code of ethics can file a Judicial Review (PK).

"Especially for Inspector General FS, the appeal is a final and binding decision," said Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo at a press conference at the National Police Headquarters, Friday, August 26 at dawn.

This means, that with the invalidity of the regulation, then, only an appeal can be taken by Ferdy Sambo.

Ferdy Sambo can no longer take other legal steps such as a PK if he is not satisfied with the results of the appeal decision.

"So the appeal decision is final and binding. There is no longer any legal action," said Dedi.

As previously reported, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was dismissed or dishonorably dismissed from the Police. The former Head of the National Police Propam Division was found guilty of violating the professional code of ethics for members of the police force as determined by the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP).

"Dishonourable discharge as a member of the National Police," said Head of Communications and Security, Komjen Ahmad Dofiri, reading the verdict of the ethics commission hearing Inspector General Ferdy Sambo at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday, August 26 in the morning.

Based on the decision, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo filed an appeal with a submission period of 3 days. Ferdy Sambo is ready with any appeal decision.

"In accordance with Article 69 of the Perpol No. 7/2022, allow us to file an appeal. Whatever the decision on the appeal, we are ready to implement it," said Inspector General Ferdy Sambo during the code of ethics trial.
