COVID-19 Update As Of August 11: New Cases 5,532, Active Cases 52,729

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 123,519 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,532 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,267,137 people and active cases have increased by 686 to 52,729 cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, August 11.

Today's recovered cases increased by 4,824 people, bringing the total to 6,057,237 recoveries. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 22 cases and totaled 157,171 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,218 cases and a total of 1,355,455 cases. Followed by West Java with 1,296 new cases with a total of 1,147,634 cases. Banten with 695 new cases and a total of 319,368 cases. East Java with 466 new cases and a total of 590,121 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,384 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 746 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 483 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 363 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 104,910,593.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.05 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 54,494 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 202,841,745 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,392,604 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 57,980,364. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
