SEMARANG - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) again sent 60 thousand doses of vaccines to anticipate oral and nail diseases (FMD) in Central Java Province.
"If nothing goes wrong, 60 thousand doses of PMK vaccine will come on Wednesday tomorrow to speed up vaccination," said Central Java Provincial Secretary Sumarno in Semarang, Antara, Tuesday, August 9.
He said the achievement of the first stage of PMK prevention vaccination in Central Java was more than 99 percent of the total target. To accelerate the realization of the first and second stages of vaccination to prevent PMK, he continued, the Central Java Provincial Government is synergizing with various parties, including the TNI/Polri.
"This is because the challenge of FMD vaccination is quite large because the vaccinator needs to visit the place where the animal will be injected with the vaccine," he said after opening the Cross-Sector Coordination Meeting for Controlling FMD.
The involvement of the TNI/Polri in the implementation of vaccinations to prevent FMD was carried out due to the wide range of personnel from Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas.
"We are synergizing with all parties, including the support of the TNI/Polri. There are friends from the Babinsa and the bhabinkamtibmas who control the area, so we will follow up with that faster, because they are informed about socialization and when an incident occurs, they know beforehand," he said.
Head of the Livestock and Animal Health Service of Central Java Province, Agus Wariyanto, added that the involvement of Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas is part of the synergy and acceleration of vaccination efforts to prevent FMD.
"According to the rules, in the field (the controllers, ed) are still veterinarians and medical doctors, but if it's not enough to vaccinate animals, one person needs to handle it, then secure the livestock as well and someone injects it," he said.
According to him, the trend of the spread of PMK in Central Java is starting to show a decline, even around 200 cases per day.
Meanwhile, the number of the first dose of vaccination has reached the range of 135 thousand livestock.
"In Central Java, 134 thousand-135 thousand individuals have been vaccinated, or around 99.5 percent. That's an accelerator. Meanwhile, there are 56,000 suspected FMDs within three months. The addition of 200 cases per day on average was up to 1,400 individuals. per day. With the vaccination, the transmission goes down," he said.
