KPK Senior Employee Resigns After 15 Years Of Work, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Employee Advisor Nanang Farid Syam resigned from an anti-corruption agency. Nanang resigned after working for 15 years at the KPK.

"God willing, this is just a matter of momentum, God willing, December 16, when I have served at the KPK for 15 years. I was inaugurated on December 16, 2005. So, I submitted yesterday to stop December 16, 2020," said Nanang in his statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, November 13.

He also said that he had met his director, namely the Director of Network Development and Cooperation between Commissions and Agencies (PJKAKI) KPK Sujanarko regarding his resignation.

As for the reason, he felt that he had reached the finish line of working at the KPK, it was like a man had reached his destination.

"If the reasons can be 1,001 reasons. I just feel like I have 'finished', like a person running until their destination. So, there are various perspectives on goals. I feel that what I am doing is enough, maybe I need a new track to run again. , "said Nanang.

However, he did not deny that the reason for his resignation was due to changes in the KPK body, one of which was the revision of the KPK Law.

"Basically, I was one of those who questioned the change of the KPK Law from the start. So, in the end of 2019 we have also contemplated together with friends. Then we tried to go on for a year, apparently I thought this was not my place because maybe my expectations were too high. , "he said.

Meanwhile, Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri also confirmed that Nanang had submitted his resignation.

"The information received is due to opening an independent business. We hope that Mas Nanang Farid Syam will remain at the KPK with other employees to fight against corruption," Ali said when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday.

However, he said, the KPK would still appreciate it if this was the choice in question.

"However, if this is the employee's choice, we certainly appreciate it. The KPK encourages alumni to maintain the value of integrity and transmit their anti-corruption attitude wherever they are," said Ali.
