JAKARTA - The name of the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP), Moeldoko, is considered to have a chance to run for the 2024 presidential election if his electability continues to creep up.

This was revealed by Indonesian Political Opinion (IPO) observer, Ujang Komarudin, in response to the results of the latest Political Weather Station (PWS) survey. In the survey, Moeldoko is in third place after Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno.

"The standard parameter is in electability. If Mr. Moeldoko can prove his electability is good, then he can continue to increase, he can become a potential (candidate)", said Ujang when contacted, Monday, July 18.

However, continued Ujang, if the electability is non-existent or small, it would be difficult to become a presidential and vice-presidential candidate. "Therefore, I see the standard number of parameters for the size of the vice presidential candidate playing in the electability area. Like it or not, happy or not happy, whoever he is a minister, party head, or regional head who wants to be a vice presidential candidate, the standard is the electability", Ujang explained.

Although there is a big opportunity among ministers, said Ujang, Moeldoko still has to pursue the electability of presidential candidates who have been included in the top three national surveys.

"In the future, the potential depends on whether Moeldoko can compete with the other three. For example, Prabowo, Anies, Ganjar", he continued.

If Moeldoko intends to run for the 2024 presidential election, added Ujang, he must be able to boost his electability. This is because Moeldoko also has problems. After all, he is not a party cadre.

"Yes, if the electability goes up, it's possible (there is a chance). But I see it's a bit difficult because Mr. Moeldoko doesn't have a party. Both electability standards are still far from the others. Therefore, if you want to advance, you must be able to compete in the top 3", concluded Ujang.
