SURABAYA - The East Java Regional Police named Moch Subchi Azal Tsani (MSAT) a suspect in the sexual abuse of female students at the Shiddiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, East Java, who was immediately detained after arriving at the East Java Police Headquarters. Mas Bechi, as the suspect is known, previously surrendered at midnight on Thursday, July 7th.

As of 01.20 western Indonesia time, Friday, July 8, it was observed that a convoy of police arrived at the East Java Police Headquarters. However, suspect MSAT was not seen in the group, only the figure of the East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta accompanied by his staff was visible.

The Police Chief did not comment on journalists. He immediately entered the main building of the East Java Regional Police.

About 10 minutes later, the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Grand Commissioner Dirmanto, met with reporters waiting for the MSAT to arrive at the Directorate of General Crime (Ditreskrimum) building of the East Java Police. Grand Commissioner Dirmanto confirmed that suspect MSAT had arrived at the East Java Police.

"MSAT is already at the East Java Police, and was immediately detained," said Dirmanto.

Dirmanto said that MSAT case would be released this morning.

"Colleagues, please be patient, it will not be released tonight. We will release it tomorrow morning, so please be patient," he said briefly.

Previously, the East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta said that in the near future, Mas Bechi alias MSAT would be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office. The East Java Regional Police Chief emphasized that the court process will determine the guilt or innocence of the son of the Jombang Kiai.

"We are coordinating with the prosecutor's office. To determine whether someone is guilty or not is through a court process. We continue to open up infrastructure and opportunities for those concerned to defend themselves in the courtroom. This process works because there are victims, the Police are obligated to provide services and protection to victims," ​​said the East Java Police Chief in front of the Shiddiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Thursday, July 7 evening.

In addition to MSAT, 320 sympathizers suspected of molesting female students were detained at the Jombang Police Headquarters. Checks are still being carried out.

“320 people are still at the Jombang Police Station undergoing examination. Whoever obstructs law enforcement will be prosecuted," said the East Java Police Chief.
