YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Police has accepted the surrender of suspects with the initials AL or L in connection with the case of violence in Jambusari, Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman Regency, which are suspected of triggering riots in Babarsari, Sleman Regency.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said AL alias L who was previously listed on the wanted list (DPO) surrendered to the DIY Police Headquarters on Thursday, July 7 morning with a number of his colleagues.

"It was Brother AL and several of his colleagues who came", said Ade, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 7.

According to Ade, several people who came with the Navy were also questioned because they knew about the incident in Jambusari.

On Wednesday, July 6 night, according to him, representatives of the two groups related to the violence case had agreed with the Head of Sub-Directorate of Violent Crimes Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) to bring several people to the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters.

"Currently we are examining several people who knew, saw, heard, and witnessed firsthand some of the criminal events that allegedly occurred a few days ago", he said.

According to Ade, another suspect with the initials R has not yet surrendered himself to the DIY Regional Police. "R hasn't come yet", he said.

In the case in Jambusari on Saturday, July 2, AL and R were suspected of committing violence together in public against people and violating Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.

The two suspects, Ade said, committed violence which resulted in three people being injured.

"One person suffered a wound on his right hand, the second suffered a wound to the neck due to a sharp weapon, the third suffered an injury to his thigh due to being hit by an arrow", he said.

Inter-group riots in the Babarsari area occurred on Monday, July 4. As a result, several shop houses and motorbikes were damaged.

The DIY Police suspect that the riot was the aftermath of a commotion at a karaoke place in Babarsari.

The violence in Jambusari is also said to have triggered the inter-group riots.
