BENGKULU - The Bengkulu District Prosecutor's Office has destroyed some evidence with legal force from 105 cases that have occurred since 2021.

Head of the Bengkulu District Prosecutor's Office Intelligence Section, Riki Musriza, said the charcoal evidence was in the form of 45.09 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 245.07 grams of marijuana.

Then 124.47 grams of gorilla tobacco, 35 ecstasy pills, 3.49 thousand Samcodia pills, 962 pieces of illegal cosmetics, 14 electronic scales, 15 cell phones, and one firearm.

"The Bengkulu State Prosecutor's Office has destroyed several pieces of evidence that have permanent legal force", Riki said in Bengkulu, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 5.

He explained that the destruction of various types of evidence had obtained permanent legal force in its handling.

This is by Article 46 of the Criminal Procedure Code paragraph 2 concerning cases that have been decided, then objects subject to confiscation based on a judge's decision are destroyed or to be damaged until they cannot be used.

He said the destruction was carried out to anticipate irregularities and misuse of evidence by unscrupulous officers from the prosecutor's office and to minimize the possibility of embezzlement of evidence.

"The evidence is for the last one year period, meaning that cases that are indeed court orders to be destroyed, we will destroy them", he said.

Riki added, related to evidence in the form of two-wheeled vehicles and the like, it will not be destroyed but will be auctioned off and the money from the auction will be handed over to the state.
