Hundreds Of Brazilians Now On Bolsonaro's Side, Take To The Road To Refuse Chinese Vaccines

JAKARTA - The rejection of the COVID-19 vaccine from China, Sinovac in Brazil is increasingly widespread. After President Jair Bolsonaro previously stated that he refused the COVID-19 vaccine from China, now hundreds of Brazilians are protesting against the steps of Sao Paulo Governor Joao Doria with his mandatory vaccination.

Launching CNA, Monday, November 2, residents who rallied in Sao Paulo thought that the mandatory vaccination effort with a vaccine made in China was not the right decision. They demanded Doria to test other vaccines more, rather than urge the people of Sao Paulo to be vaccinated with the Chinese vaccine.

Even the protesters seemed to support Bolsonaro. Time and time again they shouted the message Bolsonaroi always echoed: we are not guinea pigs!

Protesters also carried many posters with various messages. One of them: There is no vaccine!

"We are against China's authoritarian ambassador, Joao Doria, who will now mandate vaccines against our will. This is not happening anywhere in the world, not even in China," said protester Andre Petros.

Previously, the Sinovac vaccine was entering its Phase III trial phase with support from Doria in Sao Paulo. Doria's move to use a vaccine made in China was also supported by the Brazilian Health Ministry by announcing that it would purchase 46 million doses of vaccine last month.

The day after the announcement of the purchase of the Sinovac vaccine, Bolsonaro was outraged. He said Brazil would not buy the vaccine. Bolsonaro also said vaccinations were not mandatory.

So far Brazil has confirmed 5,545,705 cases of COVID-19 transmission. Among them, there were 160,074 deaths.
