Reveals Two Drug Cases, NTB National Narcotics Agency Destroys 757.01 Grams Of Methamphetamine

MATARAM - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province destroyed 757.01 grams of crystal methamphetamine which was evidence of the disclosure of two drug cases in the period March and April 2022.

The head of the NTB Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP), Gagas Nugraha, in the extermination of drugs in Mataram, Tuesday, June 21, said that of the two cases, his party had named six suspects, with the case handling still under investigation.

"We have named them suspects under the suspicion of Article 112 paragraph 2 and or Article 114 paragraph 2 of the Narcotics Law", Gagas said as quoted by Antara.

Five of the six suspects, he explained, were arrested on April 7, 2022. The location is in a hotel in the Mataram City area.

From that location, officers arrested five perpetrators with the initials RA and MD from East Lombok and three Acehnese with the initials SB, M, and Z.

From the arrest, confiscated evidence of methamphetamine in 11 black plastic bags in the shape of an oval with an overall gross weight of 757.29 grams. After being weighed, the net weight of the methamphetamine was 687.18 grams.

Then for the second case on March 27, 2022, officers arrested a man with the initials SMB in the Sumbawa area. The man was arrested when he took a package containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 104.28 grams and two ecstasy pills.

"Evidence of drugs was found in a package that came from East Java. One clip containing methamphetamine and another clip containing MDMA ecstasy was found in the doll", he said.

Regarding the destruction of drug evidence, he continued, it was part of the investigators' efforts to complete the case file.

"So this (destruction) is part of the fulfillment of evidence for later needs in court", he said.

Of the confiscated evidence, he continued, some have been set aside for laboratory testing and evidence at trial.

"So after being set aside, the total that we destroyed today was 757.01 grams, that's from the two cases earlier", he said.

The destruction of the drugs was witnessed by representatives of the prosecutor, court, and the suspect. Also present to witness from the TNI (Indonesian Army), National Police, Customs, and National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).

The methamphetamine is destroyed by putting it in a blender with water and then mixing it with used oil. Finally, the methamphetamine mixture is planted in the ground.
