JAKARTA - Terrifyingly, the house of a resident of RW 01, Rawa Bunga Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, was damaged by bullets during an attack that was allegedly carried out by a group of Gunung Antang thugs.

Emon (42) was shocked when he found out that his shop window had broken holes. Emon suspected that the window had been shattered by a bullet from a firearm.

Emon, the shop owner, said that he only realized that the rolling door and shop window had holes when he opened the shop, on Monday, June 13 at 05.00 WIB.

"In the morning I opened the shop at 05.00 WIB, still not aware, so my sister-in-law saw that there were bullet marks there (rolling door and storefront)," said Emon to reporters at the location, Wednesday, June 15.

He was sure that the shop window was broken because of bullets from gun fire because bullets were found in the display case, above the cigarette pack.

"The bullet was inside, on top of the cigarette (package)," he said.

Then Emon rushed to report this incident to the local neighborhood administrator. Not long after, the police arrived and took one of the bullets as evidence for investigation.

"Then I reported to the RW first, then from the RW, the intelligence police arrived, took the items, took photos and took them," he said.

Emon said, this was the first time he had experienced this. Previously, he claimed to have heard gunshots, but he thought positively that the gunfire came from the security forces guarding the area.

"I think positively it's the police, so it's safe, I fell asleep again. I found out in the morning I opened at 5, still not aware, my sister-in-law saw (the bullet marks), I said, 'oh this gun'," he explained.

Furthermore, apart from gunshots, there were also stone attacks targeting residential areas during the attack on Monday, June 13, early that morning.

"The attack was at 03.00 WIB, there were shots and they were attacked with stones," he said.

Previously, local resident HB (45) said that one bullet was secured by the Jatinegara Sector Police (Polsek) following an attack by a gang of suspected thugs from the Gunung Antang localization to the residential area of Jalan Kemuning Bendungan RW 01, Rawa Bunga Village, East Jakarta.

"(As a result of the incident) Many of the windows (of their houses) were broken and bullets were caught," said HB.
