Residents' Houses In Tejakula Buleleng Destroyed And Burned By Mass

BULELENG - The house of a resident named Sahrudin (26) in the Banjar Dinas Batugambir, Julah Traditional Village, Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, was damaged and burned by the masses.

"There have been incidents of vandalism and burning of houses of residents working on disputed land as well as the destruction of cowsheds", said Head of Public Relations of the Buleleng Police, AKP Gede Sumarjaya, Thursday, June 9.

The incident occurred at around 08.00 WITA in the disputed land. At that time, the residents of the Julah Traditional Village had a cooperation activity with a total of 150 people.

While at the location, residents perform prayers. In addition, Kelian Adat reads out the genealogy of the disputed land and the results of the decision of the State Administrative Court (PTUN) proposed by the plaintiff.

When discussing with residents, stones were thrown at the victim's house who was known to be the cultivator of the disputed land. Other residents were lured into destroying the house and then set it on fire.

"As a result of this incident the victim suffered losses in the form of the house where he lived burned with its contents and the kitchen the loss could not be determined by the victim and for this incident, the victim reported to the Tejakula Police for legal proceedings", said Sumarjaya.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters. Meanwhile, the police have conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP).

"This case is still being investigated by the Tejakula Police", he said.
