Health Officers Provide Mobile Services To Victims Of Majene Flood

MAMUJU - Health workers from the Malunda Subdistrict Health Center, Majene Regency, West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) provide mobile health services to flood victims in the area.

"Health officers from the Malunda Subdistrict Health Center provide mobile health services at a number of flood locations in several villages in the Malunda Subdistrict," said the Head of the Malunda Subdistrict Health Center, Hamka, in Majene, Sunday, May 29.

He said the Malunda Health Center provided health services by moving from village to village for residents affected by the flood disaster to prevent people from getting sick.

He said three hamlets in Bambangan Village were insulated by floods after the bridge that became the access to the village was damaged by floods.

"Bambangan Village is a priority in providing health services because the Pustu and Poskesdes in the area cannot function after being damaged by the flood," he said, quoted by Antara.

In this service, health workers visited the houses of residents affected by the flood.

"This mobile health service activity is very beneficial for the community, because health services are carried out directly by visiting people's homes, affected by floods," he said.

He said mobile health services were carried out continuously to anticipate diseases that could arise after the flood disaster in the next few days.

"Some people affected by the flood began to complain of ARI and headaches, so health services were provided," he said.

Floods in the Malunda sub-district on the trans Sulawesi route in the region inundated hundreds of residential areas after heavy rains hit since Thursday, May 26, at around 15.00 central Indonesia time.

Residents' agricultural land was damaged due to flooding and a number of livestock and two-wheeled vehicles belonging to residents were washed away by the flood.

A number of houses were also damaged and government facilities were submerged, in addition a number of bridges and village roads were damaged and hundreds of residents were isolated and fled to higher places.
