JAKARTA - Sony promised 20 game titles on the first day of the PlayStation VR2 launch. However, until now the release date is still unknown.

Launching the Video Games Chronicle, Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan said Sony was working on an initial 20 game titles that were worthy of release for PlayStation VR2 users.

"Right now, there's a fair amount of money being spent on partnerships with independent developers and other third parties to 'lock in' some exciting VR content for PlayStation VR2," he said.

Jim added, that the budget and enthusiasm for developing PlayStation VR2 is increasing as technology emerges to play it.

"That energy, that effort, and that money will continue to grow as the installed base of PlayStation VR2 headsets grows," he said.

Although Sony hasn't announced yet, a game title that will be released at the same time as the PlayStation VR2 has been leaked to the public. The game is Horizon: Call of the Mountain. This was known after the leak of a file that was presented by Sony to game developers.

In a file presented to game developers, the Japanese company plans to add advanced resolution and tracking on PlayStation VR2 to 4K HDR.

Performance improvements include new sensor features, improved control tracking, and expanded viewing angles.

Previously, Sony released a new VR headset called PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) in January 2022.

The VR headset features include an increased screen resolution, a single cable for easier setup, and a more ergonomically designed controller to display haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
