BOYOLALI - The Department of Livestock and Fisheries of Boyolali Regency has tracked 4,473 livestock to control the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreaks.

"From the tracking of 4,473 livestock, there are 360 suspects and 21 positives for FMD," said Head of the Boyolali District Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Lucia Dyah Suciati, after a coordination meeting on handling FMD in Boyolali, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, May 25.

Lucia explained the FMD case in Boyolali since May 7, 2022, initially as many as 15 cows in Singosari Mojosongo Village were positive, then there were three additional cows and three goats in Ampel.

"We are tracking until Wednesday, May 25, from 4,473 livestock, there are 360 suspects and 21 positives for FMD. Of the number of suspects and positive livestock, 41 have recovered from FMD," said Lucia.

She explained that the areas that are in the FMD red zone and there are already animals that have tested positive for FMD, namely Mojosongo and Ampel. There are six sub-districts in the yellow zone, namely Selo, Gladaksari, Cepogo, Musuk, Tamansari, and Karanggede.
