DKI Provincial Government Will Evaluate Total Spatial Post Landslide In Ciganjur

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Riza Patria said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct a total evaluation related to spatial planning. This is done to prevent landslides such as what happened in Melati Residence Housing, Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta some time ago.

"We will carry out a total evaluation throughout Jakarta. So later we will confirm. The Governor has also checked, if anyone violates the spatial plan we will give sanctions including the case that occurred in Ciganjur. It seems that there is one housing that has protruded. going to the river and it shouldn't be like that, "Riza told reporters in Jakarta, Sunday, October 18.

"We will confirm the cause and will be evaluated, including those who abuse this spatial plan, whether it is done by the residents themselves or by housing developers," added the Gerindra Party politician.

In addition, he assessed that private housing developers or developers also contributed to the flood disaster in Jakarta. So, he asked the housing developer to support the flood prevention program carried out by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

"We also ask for help and support from the private sector, especially the developers, who also apologize for causing flooding in the vicinity," he said.

As a result of the landslide that occurred on Saturday, October 10, the Setu River's children overflowed and submerged 300 houses in the Jalan Damai area, Ciganjur, South Jakarta. In addition, this incident also resulted in a person dying.

Regarding the incident, the DKI DPRD will summon the housing developer Melati Residence to ask for information about the landslide incident. Chairman of Commission D DPRD DKI Jakarta Ida Mahmuda said this meeting was aimed at finding out the cause of the embankment landslide tragedy that killed residents from the village next to it.

"We are concerned about casualties. Developers must also have concern, that's why we will see what form of concern they have from this incident," Ida said as quoted from his written statement.

Ida considered the landslide incident in Ciganjur to be a concern. This is because the incident not only killed local residents, but also damaged the residents' buildings which were buried by landslides from their homes. In addition, the location of the housing estate was so close to Kali Anak Situ that he suspected a permit violation related to the housing construction.

"There was a house that was hit by a landslide yesterday, and there was also a device there that wanted to dredge. In the end, half of the house was all damaged. So whose responsibility is it? So we see, on Monday they violate the permit or not," he explained.

Separately, Head of SDA DKI Jakarta, Juaini Yusuf, explained that the plaster made by the developer at Melati Residence Housing is considered dangerous in terms of construction. Supposedly, sheet piles with a height of about 30 meters should not use river stones.

"Of course, when there is rainfall and the soil is eroded, the sheet plaster will automatically affect it, so landslides occur," he added.
