Victims Died In Ciamis Accident Increase, Police: Pilgrims Departure Has No Notification To Village Officials

JAKARTA - The number of victims of a tourism bus accident that crashed into a house and a number of vehicles in the Plenary area, Payungsari Village, Panumbangan District, Ciamis Regency, West Java, Saturday at around 18.00 western Indonesia time, increased to 4 people.

After previously it was reported that 3 people died and 24 people were injured in the deadly accident.

This was conveyed by the Banten Police Chief Inspector General Rudy Heriyanto through the Dirbinmas of the Banten Police KBP Sofwan Hermanto, in a written statement, Sunday, May 22.

"It's true that the group that went to Ciamis was a pilgrimage group from Sukamulya District, Tangerang Regency, heading to Cirebon, Panjalu-Ciamis and Pamijahan-Tasikmalaya. The committee is on behalf of Anjar's mother from the Tarbiatul Muftabi'in Ta'lim Council,” Sofwan explained.

Information received from the Banten Police, according to information from the Sukamulya Village Head, there was no notification of the departure of the pilgrimage group to the village apparatus.

"The 118 participants in the group departed from the Caplak Market, Kali Asih Village, on Saturday (May 21) around 00.00 by using 2 buses from PO Komara and PO Pandawa Nopol DK-7307-WA," he explained.

Sofwan also said that until now there were 4 victims who died at the Ciamis Hospital, namely Sri Mulyani (45), a resident of Sukamulya, Tangerang, two people from Payungsari on behalf of Feri, Mrs. Enok, and Mrs. Omah from Pagerageng.

The bus accident occurred in the Plenary area, Payungsari Village, Panumbangan District, Ciamis Regency, West Java, Saturday at around 18.00 western Indonesia time. The group bus is a passenger who has just returned from a tour in Panjalu.

A local resident named Sandi said that the tourism bus was traveling from Panjalu to Panumbangan with the road condition declining.
