JAKARTA - The Chinese military has unveiled a draft artificial intelligence (AI) system to plan and coordinate air raids, the South China Morning Post reported.

The AI system was developed for military exercises involving dozens of units and hundreds of targets, as well as helping to devise combat operation plans.

The move shows Beijing's efforts to accelerate the integration of advanced technology into the operations of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the South China Morning Post report said.

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Tuesday, August 4, military analyst Zhang Junshe told Global Times that AI can help the decision-making process in military operations.

According to Zhang, the technology is capable of calculating the development of the battlefield in real time and determining the optimal target for various types of weapons.

AI can also help determine the timing of ammunition use, improve the accuracy of attacks, and reduce resource waste during operations, he said.
